It's hard enough for us average Joes to live up to our folks' good name...assuming they have a good name. But just imagine if the name you’ve got to live up to not only holds a Nobel Peace Prize but is also the most widely recognized name in the American Civil Rights Movement. The name anybody on the street can instantaneously rattle off if asked "Who gave the 'I have a dream' speech?", and the name that represents the greatest martyr for race relations that has ever lived. What if you had the exact same name? There's only one man on earth who knows what I’m talking about—Martin Luther King III, the oldest son of the late, great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the late Coretta Scott King. King has taken up his dad’s cause, bringing a message of hope and the equitable treatment of all people, here and abroad. On Thursday he will continue what his father started in a motivational presentation at Mountain View College. The event will start at 7 p.m. in Mountain View's performance hall. It is free and open to the public. Mountain View College is located at 4849 W. Illinois Ave. For more information, contact the MVC Student Programs and Resources office at 214-860-8685.
Thu., Nov. 9, 7 p.m.
