I'm a little bit out of the Hanukkah/Chanukah loop. The Holiday Armadillo taught me a little, as did Seth Cohen, but I blame my lack of Jewish knowledge on my parentsBuddhist, Catholic and Lutheran parents tend to leave a person accepting of all but relating to few. Regardless, I have to say that a menorah all lit up makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. It does, after all, represent the Festival of Lights, and this year the Intown Chabad is taking the festival uptown. Though Hanukkah lasts for eight days, the Public Display of Illumination celebration from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday is a one-night-only event and will feature latkes, libations and live music by Shma. In addition, the menorah will be lit each night of Hanukkah at 6 p.m. in the West Village between Mi Cocina and the Magnolia Theatre. Call 214-632-2633 or visit theintownchabad.com.
