Please imagine me eating a raw steak and drinking dark beer as I tell you about the 20th Annual Mad Hatter's Garden Party. It takes place during Dallas Blooms and is hosted by the Women's Council of The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. It features a luncheon, a mystery hatbox silent auction and a "Flemish floral still-life" presentation by Dutch Master floral designer René van Rems. Delivered in the persona of 16th-century painter Ambrosius Bosschaert, he interprets Flemish and Dutch paintings while creating floral pieces using the flowers, vessels and botanicals featured on canvas. Creative garden hats for attendees are optional, but I must now demand a Playboy and a testosterone shot. Thank you. The party hops from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. For tickets or information visit womenscouncildallasarboretum.org.
