Maybe it's just me, but it seems like one day, Tyler Perry just came out of nowhere. Then, all of a sudden, there's this robust black woman named Madea kicking ass and taking names (both literally and figuratively) all over the place. In five years, Perry has written, produced and directed nine films, more of them starring Ms. Madea than not, and each has been marginally more successful than the previous. He has also penned numerous works for the stage and had a book published that landed atop the New York Times best seller list. Hell, at this point, Perry could put his name in front of a multi-dimensional mime act starring me and it'd probably rake in millions (now there's an image). Quite literally, though, he and his alter ego are everywhere, and now Dallas is no exception. This weekend, Tyler Perry is bringing Madea's Big Happy Family to the Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie for five live shows of singing, acting and comedy unique to Perry's franchise. Tickets are $47 to $57. Call 1-800-745-3000 or visit ticketmaster.com. Check out tylerperry.com for more information.
