If you haven't been to Marfa, face it: You're just not that cool. Two of the year's most kick-ass movies were filmed there (There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men), seriously indie bands make special trips there (Boris, Joanna Newsom and others) and even Prada developed a free-standing installation in Marfa. It's the West Texas place destination. If you haven't, or can't, make it, however, artist Brian Campbell Bosworth has done his best to bring the West to Dallas with Borderline Greatness, an exhibition of paintings and sculpture of "Marfa and the far West Texas border region" on display in the Janette Kennedy Gallery, in South Side on Lamar, through May. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Call 214-426-1575 or visit southsideonlamar.com.
Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: May 9. Continues through May 30, 2008
