Avenue Q is a part-human, part-puppet musical for adults. (Well, let’s just say “mature audiences” because we all know 18-and-overs who giggle at the mere mention of s-e-x, drinking and p-o-r-n.) Anyway, Avenue Q tells the tale of a recent college graduate, Princeton, who moves all the way down to Avenue Q. There he meets a band of puppet misfits that help him discover his purpose in life. Now when we say band of misfits, we’re not exaggerating. Princeton’s new crew includes Kate, the girl next door; Rod, the Republican; Trekkie, the Internet sexpert; and Lucy the Slut — surprise, she’s a slut …but she’s also a puppet so that makes her a sluppet? Or a plut? Debate it on your way to the show, which starts at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $20 and available for purchase now at theater3dallas.com. The performance takes place at Theater Too, a part of Theater 3 in the Quadrangle, 2800 Routh St., Suite 168.
