Every New Year's Eve involves some sort of mystery: How did those pants get on the ceiling fan? Where did I spend that last $50? Who are they and why are they wearing various parts of my Maude costume? This year, plan on a mystery...and then solve it. Mystery Comedy Theatre at Southfork Hotel invites to dinner, during a scary storm and a power outage. There's a murder to solve and the killer may very well be among you. For $59.95, sleuth your way through a tasty dinner from 9 to 11 p.m. and follow it up with a DJ set and dancing from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Of course, there will be a champagne toast at the appropriate hour. There's no mystery there. For $79 you can stay the night and get late check-out as well as breakfast for two in Remington's Restaurant. Reservations required (and quick! Spots fill up fast.) Southfork Hotel is located at 1600 N. Central Expressway in Plano. Call 972-978-9715 for dining and mystery reservations, and call 972-578-8555 for hotel reservations.
