Dallas' lit scene is a tiny one; there's Will Clarke (Lord Vishnu's Love Handles), Harry Hunsicker and...oh, you could probably name one or two comers, but be honest. HH's second Lee Henry Oswald mystery, The Next Time You Die, is forthcoming next month, and it's a hun-dinger (heh). But speaking of killer follow-ups, Clarke's second novel, written long ago during his ad-man days, is The Worthy, and it certainly is. The story of a murdered Louisiana State frat boy who, from the grave, hazes his bad Greek brothers is a smart, rueful tome unlike any other ghost story ever penned. No surprise it's been snatched up by the movies: A few weeks back Sony Pictures optioned it; the film version will be produced by Lucy Fisher and Doug Wick (Jarhead, Memoirs of a Geisha) and written by Judd Apatow pals Brendan O'Brien and Andrew J. Cohen. But why wait? Buy the book and meet the man 7:30 p.m. Monday at Barnes & Noble, 7700 W. Northwest Highway. Call 214-739-1124.
