People seem to go nuts over silent auctions. Or maybe not. They go anti-auction. People are quiet. They're serene. They stroll. After all, a silent auction is just eBay you have to put on pants for. If you're into that (and you might be), or want to support the awareness of adolescent mental health (and you should), The Grant Halliburton Foundation is hosting Steaks on the Lake, an evening of grilled steaks by Chef DC and his crew, live music and of course, a silent auction. On the roster of goods up for passive-aggressive bidding are two tickets to a taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, two tickets to the taping of The Bachelor: The Women Tell All, tickets to Cowboys, Mavericks and Stars games, a catered dinner for ten, and a sailboat cruise for four. Steaks on the Lake will be at The Filter Building, 2810 White Rock Road on White Rock Lake from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday. RSVP at https://halliburton.ejoinme.org/steaksonthelake.
