Some people run marathons just to get a free t-shirt. Others donate blood. You can circumvent the lightheadedness associated with both by simply viewing a relative marathon of gallery exhibitions, guzzling free Brooklyn Lager and crunching noms from Dallas’ finest food trucks (after 6:00 p.m.) during the Design District Gallery Day on July 28, kicking off at noon and partying until 9:00 p.m. Check out shows from established galleries: Circuit 12 Contemporary, Cohn Drennan Contemporary, Conduit Gallery, Craighead Green Gallery, Cris Worley Fine Arts, Dallas Contemporary, Galleri Urbane, Goss-Michael Foundation, Holly Johnson Gallery, Marty Walker Gallery, PDNB Gallery and Red Arrow Contemporary, while supporting one of the city’s newest emerging neighborhoods. Each gallery will boast gift bags for the first 25 visitors – which is where you’ll snag that dearly coveted T – and local artists, owners and staff will be on hand to talk the state of the arts, west of 35. Visit dallasgalleryday.com for more details.
