If you wanted to make this your summer of culture, to take advantage of all the art and theater and music that this city has to offer, you’ve had ample opportunity thus far. And if you’ve wanted to do it on the cheap, well, this season was practically made for you. You could get through almost every cultural institution in this city without paying a dime if you played your cards right. The one holdout, though? Theater. Though tickets are hardly pricey, you’ve got your eye on your budget ... and your prayers have been answered. The Junior Players’ summer production of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing runs at 8:15 nightly through Sunday at the Samuell-Grand Amphitheater, 1500 Tenison Parkway. The concept of the show has been tweaked so that the beloved romantic comedy is set in Italy in the early 1960s, but the playful dialogue and heartwarming love story between Benedick and Beatrice and Claudio and Hero remains the same. Bring a lawn chair, a picnic and maybe make a tiny bit of room in that budget for a donation to your hosts, the Junior Players. Visit juniorplayers.org.
