If The Weather Channel is to be believed -- Delkus is on vacation and CBS 11's Larry Mowry thinks it could be Friday -- we could have rain today. RAIN, people.
In honor of and in hope of this forecast, we're taking a cue from DC9 (even though Pete is in his office right now playing Blind Melon's "No Rain" and bitching about losing the record) and offering the best in rainy weather movie scenes. No umbrellas required.

Seriously. By this point in the movie there is nothing about this that isn't perfection. It's what needed to happen, dammit. Plus, it looks really cold and that makes it even more amazing.
Blade Runner Tragic and powerful. Time ... to ... rain.
The Shawshank Redemption
"Andy crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of shit smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. Five hundred yards... that's the length of five football fields, just shy of half a mile." TNT's greatest rain-drenched offering on a summer day.
Jurassic Park There's nothing like a steady shower to make a T. rex glisten in the moonlight. Or to wash away goat's blood. Or to make it extra slippery and cold when you try to get away.
Singin' In the Rain C'mon. It's necessary. Gene Kelly dances in rain and looks cool doing it. And if you had any doubts about the legit entertainment factor of the film, Debbie Reynolds jumps out of a cake and Donald O'Connor launches himself off a wall.
Suspiria Oh, the foreboding rain and the sound on that stained glass window. Good things are not to come -- but, oh, a good Dario Argento movie is. The soundtrack paired with thunder and lightning helps to make arriving at a ballet conservatory one of the most frightening things to happen in a young girl's life.
Breakfast at Tiffany's We will always have a problem with Holly Golightly tossing Cat out (and essentially Paul) in the rain. Total chode move. Sure, she figured her shit out and ran after Paul and Cat, but it's incredibly challenging to forgive her any of it even after she finds that sweet red cream tabby. Who does that?! But then, we suppose [sigh] that's the power of the scene. That, and the cold precipitation on stylish overcoats.
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
That incredible battle for Helm's Deep took place under a serious amount of precipitation. And it was awesome. The dreary rain amps up the intensity and makes for one helluva dark and powerful scene.
