You don't have to look at the downtown skyline to know that theater community in Dallas has grown over the past decade, but what's in store for theaters in an environment of budget cuts and a decline in major donations? D Magazine is addressing these issues and more in an upcoming panel discussion about theater and its future.
D Magazine Presents: A Conversation About Dallas Theater will be held at the magazine's headquarters from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 20. Our very own Elaine Liner will join FrontRow's Lance Lusk, SMU professor Stan Wojewodski, TheaterJones' Mark Lowry and KERA's Jerome Weeks on the panel. As the Observer's theater critic, contributor to The Mixmaster and co-founder of Theater Jones, Elaine brings her knowledge of the theater community and its changing landscape to the discussion, and we have a feeling she'll bring some of that wit we love, too.
Admission to the event is free, but you'll need to RSVP by June 16. Space is limited, so do that today. Like, right now. Call 214- 540-0144 or email [email protected].
