You may think that plot twists, themes of forgery and a storyline that confounds the ideas of time and reality are the makings of an action film akin to Inception, but you would be wrong. Films that keep you guessing are often action-packed, but this is the description of a love story and mind-bender written and directed by Abbas Kiarostami. Set in the Italian countryside, Certified Copy centers on the relationship between a French woman and an English author who believes fake art is as good as the genuine article. Although the two appear to meet for the first time early in the film, the audience is led to question this assumption as the dialogue begins to betray logic and it becomes apparent that things are not what they seem. The film garnered acclaim at last year's Cannes Film Festival, where lead actress Juliette Binoche won Best Actress for her role.
