Somebody over at the AT&T Performing Arts Center knows what's up. Which is selfishly to say that lately I've been buying what they're selling, picking up what they're putting down, digging what... you get the point. Like the announcement today of the new summer speaker series, #thinkspeak, which includes contemporary American intellectual icons like Ira Glass, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sarah Koeing, and Radiolab's Jad Abumrad. Sure, it may sound like Dallas is getting a little public radio happy, but hey, think of their booking price as our donation to the pledge drive.

To make things even cooler, or nerdier and therefore cooler, Ira Glass will be accompanied by dance performances, because why not? And Abumrad will arrive with cellist Zoë Keating. Plus, Tyson's evening is called "An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies," which promises to be the next best thing to actually going to the movies with one of the earth's most awesome humans.

Tickets are available in four-show subscription packages with prices ranging from $257.50 to $83 and may be purchased online at www.attpac.org/series/thinkspeak.
