Tap dance isn’t really all about 12 pre-tweens with rouged cheeks attempting to ball-change in time with one another, no matter what you may have heard from friends with children. Tap is incredibly athletic, fun even at its moodiest and pretty much universally jaw-dropping. Savion Glover’s brand of tap, that is. The Tony Award-winning dancer/actor/choreographer who gets to claim that Gregory Hines called him “possibly the best tap dancer that ever lived” is coming to Bass Performance Hall, 525 Commerce St. in Fort Worth, for A Classical Encounter with Savion Glover 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Glover, who tore at heartstrings in Spike Lee’s Bamboozled and inspired with Bring in ’Da Noize, Bring in ’Da Funk, will bring 30 years of dance to the stage, and there’s no doubt it will be truly awesome. Tickets are $22 to $82.50. Call 1-877-212-4280 or visit basshall.com.
