Watch out, all you Dallas conservative Republicans (hell, even some of you Dems), because this city is about to get slammed in the backside with Queer Anarchy. No, this isn't the pink uprising in protest of Constable Dupree's resignation (we pretty much took his card back) or Ed Oakley's flubbed chance at being our first gay mayor. Nor will drag queens be running amok while leather daddies enforce the strong fist of a new gay order. Queer Anarchy is a "politically frank, poignant theatrical event" where plays and performances convey slices of gay life against backdrops of hate crimes, prejudices and alienation. Just in time for Texas Pride Month. Bet you didn't have that on your calendars. Queer Anarchy runs at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at The McKinney Avenue Contemporary, 3120 McKinney Ave., and is for mature audiences only. For reservations, call 214-220-9373.
Sept. 6-9, 8 p.m.
