Lots of people believe that art is all about interpretation. For instance, a sculpture you think is stunning may look like an ugly hunk of clay to the next guy. But what happens when artists base their work on interpretation itself? That's exactly the theme of Sustenance, an art exhibition featuring site-specific installations by 24 talented artists. The curator, Stephen Lapthisophon, came up with the exhibition to allow artists to interpret sustenance for themselves, then create responses to the word using sound installations, video, sculpture installations, performances and more. The show occupies a vacant two-story building located at 337 Singleton Blvd. in West Dallas, in a space free of any distraction, so the art gets a chance to speak for itself. Come take a look at how these artists define their environment Saturdays and Sundays through October 3. For more information, visit sustenanceexhibition.blogspot.com.
