A pricey, gourmet luncheon to fight community hunger seems a bit oxymoronic on the surface. While the poor wait in lines for a ladle of generic slop, the well-off will indulge in exquisite soups and desserts from 20 high-end establishments--to fight hunger. But kind of like that Rick Steves travel DVD you get for donating to KERA, incentives for doing good are justifiable. Empty Bowls: An Artful Luncheon to Fight Hunger will feature donated culinary creations, a silent auction and the sale of 1,200 donated glass, ceramic and wooden bowls from local artisans. Profits benefit the Tarrant Area Food Bank. The luncheon is Friday from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Round Up Inn at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth.
