With all of the things that could potentially go wrong during a dance performance, we don’t often think of a broken string or a sour note. Lots of accompaniment is canned these days, leaving less to chance. That’s not to say such things will go wrong during a Mark Morris Dance Group, but live dance with live music offers an element of suspense and heightened excitement. Of course, with the incredible talent behind and performing as MMDG, that edge-of-seat factor is already built in to the 8 p.m. show Saturday at the Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St. It features works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann N. Hummel and even Ivor Cutler; a traditional Indian composition; and performances ranging from 12 dancers to pas de deux. Known for his challenging modern and contemporary ballet choreography, passion for music as the basis of movement and his dynamic juxtaposition of explosive power and delicacy, Morris’ works resonate with a wide variety of dance audiences, as well as those who appreciate a great instrumental performance. Tickets are $12 to $135. Visit attpac.org
