It wasn't that long ago when I discovered the gems that are bad movies. I mean, so-bad-they-are-good flicks where the production team probably didn't know what a grip was or how to use a director of photography. Good, earnest filmmaking with kung fu and car explosions immediately upon impact (thank you, Dolemite). Yet, apparently what I thought were B-movies might actually be C or (gasp) even F. Although I didn't particularly like True Romance, I wouldn't have figured Tony Scott's 1993 film a grade B. But that's the selection for the new poolside B-Reel Movie series at the Belmont Hotel. All that really matters, however, is seeing the new Condé Nast-approved Oak Cliff hotspot. Cash bar is available, but bring your lawn chair or blanket. The screening is this Tuesday beginning around 8:30 p.m. (at sundown) at the Belmont Hotel, 901 Fort Worth Ave. Call 1-866-870-8010.
