Finally! What a relief. Seriously. After all these years of going to art shows where we're supposed to be all objective and look at art with "fresh, open eyes," here's one that's allowing us to do the opposite. Well, at least that's what we're assuming from the title of Texas Visual Arts Association's latest, Nonobjective. That, or maybe the artists participating in the group exhibition curated by Liz Netherland weren't very objective when they created their pieces. No, that can't be it. Well, perhaps if we go with a subjective mindset we'll be totally blown away by the artwork the show has to offer. Either way, I love a good mystery. This is the final weekend to catch Nonobjective at the TVAA Downtown Gallery, Plaza of the Americas, Suite G207, 700 N. Pearl St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Visit tvaa.org.
Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: Aug. 3. Continues through Aug. 29, 2009
