I don’t know a whole lot about taking care of children, but I'm pretty sure I'm capable of getting one to go to sleep without cheating by using ether blunt objects or "Daddy's special medicine." Yeah, I've got the secret: Make bedtime a quiet time, filled with love and hugs and soothing stories about cuddly animals. Kids love that crap. So you can take your kids to the Dallas Children's Theater production of Goodnight Moon at your own risk. The classic children's bedtime story about a rabbit bidding goodnight to the various items surrounding him in his bedroom has been adapted as an "extravaganza of magic, singing, dancing and puppetry." 'Cause that's what you want bedtime to be like, right? Yet another opportunity to hear your kid screeching songs and yammering about fun and other non-sleep-related activities. DCT is one of the first regional theater companies to produce the show, which features live musical accompaniment, marionettes and slapstick antics. Shows are at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts, 5938 Skillman St., Friday through February 24. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sundays.
