Sure, it’s frowned upon to spy on your neighbors day and night. But when you’re stuck in a wheelchair with nothing but time on your hands and some fancy-schmancy photography equipment at your fingertips, what’s a guy to do? Or so we’ve discovered, thanks to some prime sleuthing by James Stewart. Suspenseful as expected with just enough humor to set it apart from its peers, Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window has earned its place in the film pantheon as one of the great screen classics, so it’s fitting that it’s a selection in this year’s The Big Movie series. Sponsored by DFW.com, this year’s lineup is, of course, pretty amazing, and it all kicks off with this film about a nosy neighbor, the suspicious women in his life and the possibly murderous tendencies of a man across the courtyard. Leave the binoculars and telephoto lens at home and head to the Magnolia Theatre (3699 McKinney Ave.) for a little voyeurism Tuesday at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $8.50 to $10.50.
