So let's not take the whole City of Hate thing too much to heart. It's not like anyone calls Dallas that anymore, and since JFK was shot the city has been very good about not hosting any more assassinations. But did Big D (much nicer nickname) ever really deserve to be called the City of Hate? That's the question that will be hashed out as The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza screens filmmaker Quin Mathews' documentary City of Hate: Dallas and the Assassination, followed by a discussion between Mathews and Bill Minutaglio, co-author of Dallas 1963, a detailed recounting of the turbulent days in Dallas before Kennedy's assassination. The program begins at 2 p.m., and tickets are $10 for the program only or $5 when combined with museum admission. They can be purchased at jfk.org.
