Some things you might not know about Whoopi Goldberg: She has been married (and divorced) three times; she has won almost every notable award one can win in entertainment (save an MTV Video Music Award or a CMA); she doesn't seem to despise The View like everyone else in America; and she was in Star Trek: The Next Generation! For someone who is probably most fondly remembered for her two bouts playing a Vegas lounge singer disguised as a nun (definitely think Sister Act 2 was far superior to the first installment, by the way), there are quite a few other things of interest about Whoopi. I am still amazed she manages to make it through an episode of The View without punching any of her co-hosts. It's impressive, really. You too have the chance to get more acquainted with the famous dreadlocked comedian when she comes to Dallas on Saturday. The one-night-only event at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center will feature Ms. Goldberg (real name, Caryn) herself for an evening full of her special brand of comedy. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $75 to $150.
