Even considering people who don't regularly follow professional sports, it would be rather difficult to find anyone who missed the dramatic fallout surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer. To recap: The Cavs' very own King (LeBron) James decided to jump ship in Ohio to join cronies Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade on the Miami Heat for the 2010-2011 season. The very dramatic turn of events played out on an hour long ESPN special dubbed The Decision which, other than eventually cluing the rest of the public in on his next move, made James seem rather self-involved and downright insensitive to a town that basically built their entire franchise around him as their star. As for the Mavs--well their summer was considerably less eventful. Nowitzki, Kidd, Terry and Co. are all staying firmly planted on the Mavericks's roster and for that reason, the impending preseason match-up between Cleveland and Dallas should make for some interesting basketball. If nothing else, it will certainly prove whether or not Dan Gilbert's threat of bringing a NBA Championship back to Cleveland before LeBron can bring one to Miami is as far fetched as it sounds. The game is set for October 11 at the American Airlines Center. For tickets or more information, visit ticketmaster.com.
