Considering that we here at the Dallas Observer concern ourselves with nothing but the cutting edge of pop culture, we have no idea what's going on in the world of professional wrestling. Ever since Vince McMahon's WWE released its headlock on the top cable spot a few years back, it's just not "hip" anymore, and we're nothing if not perched on the cusp of front-running fads. Still, the grapplers and vixens of sports entertainment are rolling into American Airlines Center on Monday for a live broadcast of their flagship Raw telecast, and we swear if Triple H holds onto the championship belt much longer, we're going to collectively scream. Man, we hate that "Cerebral Assassin." He's so arrogant. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin should be there as well, and it'll be so cool to see him back to his old tricks after his recent hiatus. Speaking of cool, any chance to be in the same building with a legend like "Nature Boy" Ric Flair should be savored, even if we can't agree with his seemingly endless alliance with the aforementioned Triple H. Not that we care about any of this, of course. We're just saying. The AAC is located at 2500 Victory Ave. Call 214-631-2787 for ticket info. --Matt Hursh

Moody's legacy lives on
If you're looking for a good excuse to spend a day on the sunny green this weekend, here's a strong one: charity. Don't worry. It's a legit, albeit expensive, excuse. Sunday is the Children's Medical Center Chip Moody Golf Classic, from which all proceeds go to the kids' hospital. Longtime Dallas news anchor Moody, the tourney's original chairman, created a child-care endowment at the hospital so that economically disadvantaged children could receive treatment there. Never mind the fact that you'll be economically disadvantaged if you try participating without finding some kind of a sponsor first. Registration is $500 per person. On a cheaper note, word has it that Dallas golf tournaments can be hot singles spots. So you could always spend the day perusing the green and playing it later. The 16th annual Children's Medical Center Chip Moody Golf Classic starts at 9 a.m. Monday at Stonebriar Country Club, 5050 Country Club Drive, Frisco. Registration is at 7 a.m. Call 972-625-5050. --Cheryl Smith

Go natural at the Rim
Doesn't a hike through the wilds of Texas sound splendid? Just think: A well-traveled, experienced guide leads you on a five-mile trail, and the wonders of nature never stop appearing. See there? Those are wildflowers. Look, some endangered gray wolves and cheetahs are romping. And after the hike, enjoy a campfire dinner, watch the sunset and see the stars. Magical, right? Too bad, dirt bag, because reservations for Fossil Rim's guided nature hike were due last Saturday. Unless the folks at Hike the Rim can sneak you in for Saturday night's event ($35 per person, $15 more for overnight), you'll have to settle for traversing the wilds of Lower Greenville.
