I've never liked slapstick humor, and I realize this puts me in a category with about only 1 percent of the rest of the world. Even still, I feel little after watching people clothesline themselves with 2-by-4 a la Jackass and, I really can't handle witnessing beer being funneled up someone's hind quarters. Mostly, I desire inspiration from movies. A believable heroine is a good start for a moving movie, and Hilary Swank, Oscar and all, has that quality down. Must admit, I wanted to be an awesome boxer lady about mid-way through Million Dollar Baby. Sure, that changed when I was bawling at the end--minor detail. It's also fair to say I wanted to be a Karate Kid...and a shoe designer. Swank will be telling tales of her controversial roles at the Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora St., tonight at 8 p.m. for the Brinker International Forum.
