You couldn't have Ozzfest anywhere but the Tysons Chicken Zima Dome. It wouldn't be a hip-hop summit if it wasn't held at the Exxon Propecia Bennigan's Sportatorium. So where else would you have the 2006 Frisco Bluegrass Festival than at Pizza Hut Park? Bluegrass is an enjoyable musical art form with a rich history. Pizza is delicious. Leave it to corporate synergy to finally bring the two together. The Pizza Hut Park Stadium seats more than 21,000 visitors. That's roughly three seats for every bluegrass fan in the tri-state area, guaranteeing ample seating and parking. And this isn't just some dusty collection of toothless, jug-tooting hillbillies dribbling Skoal juice all over their coveralls while engaging in dusk-till-dawn farting contests. This here's a class act. Country and western legend and amateur meteorologist Ricky Skaggs predicts a 100 percent chance of Kentucky Thunder as his award-winning bluegrass goliath shakes the stage with such contemporary heavyweights as the Claire Lynch Band, Cadillac Sky and Rhonda Vincent and the Rage. It's a pickin', stompin', strummin' good time for a good cause with proceeds benefiting the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation Patient Assistance Fund (which at some point may be renamed the Pfizer Schlotzsky's Axe Body Spray Institute for Rehabilitation Patient Assistance Fund). The 2006 Frisco Bluegrass Festival hoes down this Sunday at Pizza Hut Park, 6000 Main St. in Frisco. "Jamming" at the Verizon Wireless Club commences at 1 p.m. General admission tickets are $29.50, and reserved seating is $39.50. Visit friscobluegrass.com.
