Originally, Deathtrap was the name for my work-in-progress script based on Springsteen's "Born to Run" ("It's a deathtrap/It's a suicide rap/We gotta get out while we're young/'Cause tramps like us/Baby, we were born to run!"). To give you an idea of where I'm headed, just imagine Top Gun with cars instead of jets, then add a pinch of Jersey Shore bravado, Shia LaBeouf and a cameo from The Big Man, Clarence Clemmons (as the voice of God)--but I digress. I suppose I'll have to find a new title, since Deathtrap was also Broadway's longest-running thriller, an Ira Levin-penned production featuring liberal doses of murder, deceit, secret man love and a crossbow. Check it out 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Runway Theatre, 215 N. Dooley St. in Grapevine. Tickets are $15, $12 for students and seniors.
