There seems to be a new trend: overachievers who decide to participate in marathons. As someone who generally avoids any kind of working out or physical exertion in the presence of any other living soul, I have not come around to this new trend. However, I make one exception to this otherwise ironclad rule and it is for the Komen Dallas Race for the Cure. This 5K run, in its 28th year in North Dallas, is a chance to promote and educate individuals about breast health as well as celebrate those warriors who have survived the disease. This race, just like the hundreds of others held in cities across the country, is truly the most inspirational workout you could ever experience. This year's race will be held at NorthPark Center on Saturday beginning at 6:30 a.m. For more information about registration fees, fundraising or event festivities, visit komen-dallas.org.
