You’ve always wanted to be a patron of the arts, but somehow you just haven’t found the time in your busy schedule. And humanitarian work; you’ll be all over that — one of these days. It looks like Monday’s your lucky day, because just about the entire Dallas arts community is banding together for A Gathering 2013. This extravagant evening of music, dancing and spoken-word performances is intended to show that the Dallas Arts District is committed to the continuing fight against AIDS and HIV, as all proceeds from the event benefits four area AIDS resource and service groups. Among the big names and performances slated for the evening are Been Stevenson, Bree Hafen, Bridget L. Moore, TITAS, Dallas Theater Center, Dallas Opera, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Turtle Creek Chorale, Texas Ballet Theater, SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts, Bruce Wood Dance Company, Booker T. Washington HSPVA, Dallas Black Dance Theater and CharlieUniformTango. Enjoy a night of entertainment and altruism starting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St. Tickets are $12 to $150. Call 214-880-0202 or visit attpac.org.
