Believe it or not, Iron Eagle was rife with technical inaccuracies, least of which that F-16s can launch missiles while taxiing on an airstrip. If the filmmakers had the referential aid of, say, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, they might have avoided some of the movie's more glaring cinematic gaffes. That's not to say you couldn't win a fighter jet dogfight while cranking Twisted Sister on your Walkman, though. At the Controls: The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum Looks at Cockpits runs through Sunday in the Dupree Theater Lobby at the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
