Ah, yes, GayBINGO Dallas...just like your grandma's bingo, if your grandma enjoyed all the bodily pleasures of Sappho. Now that's a door prize! OK, seriously, hosted by Patti LaPlaeSafe and a number of drag queens on skates (!) working the floor, GayBINGO may just be the most entertaining way ever invented to raise money for a good cause (in this case, the GLBT nonprofit Resource Center of Dallas). Cuz, girls, the drag queens on skates are just the beginning. This week's theme, for instance, is Rydell High (other planned themes include Blackbeard's Curse, Bugle Boy and Big 'N' Texas), ensuring an invasion of Pink Ladies, blackout markers in hand, or greased-up T-Birds clad in tight mechanic shirts (sorry, straight guys, these will be the lesbians). And then there's the GayBINGO Oath (seriously): I solemnly swear to remember that I am here to raise awareness that will better promote the understanding of gays and lesbians. I further swear that I realize that BINGO is just a stupid game and I will continue playing GayBINGO until all people are treated equally! It's the only solemn thing about it. Grease is the word 5 p.m. Saturday at the Lakewood Theater, 1825 Abrams Parkway. Tickets are $15. Call 214-821-7469 or visit rcdallas.org.
