I've decided that what separates award winning filmmakers from the rest of us is their willingness to do absolutely asinine things in the name of truth. OK, so maybe that's not the only thing, but it definitely worked for Super Size Me director Morgan Spurlock. You may not know the name, but you probably remember the guy who ate nothing but McDonald's for a month, doing more for the health food movement in an hour and a half than has been done in the history of hamburgers. It also won Spurlock the Best Director award at Sundance, an Oscar nomination and a gig hosting the FX show 30 Days. See Spurlock talk about his filmmaking experiences at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Silver Eagle Suite of the University Union (Level 3, one block west of Welch and West Prairie streets) at UNT. Tickets are free for UNT students with UNT ID, $20 for general public, $10 for UNT faculty/staff, senior citizens (60 and older) and non-UNT students. For more information contact the University Union Information Center at 940-565-3805.
