Food is art. It’s literature, TV, entertainment and competition. You can even consume it for, you know, sustenance, if you want. But hey, why be plebeian? Instead, get your RDA of fancy food blather at Good Vs. Evil: An Evening with Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert at Bass Performance Hall on Friday, where the famed chefs, TV personalities and authors will share anecdotes about what goes on behind the kitchen doors. Well, some kitchen doors, anyway. Not at the places we can afford, luckily. There are some things we just don’t want to know. Bourdain, called by someone “the bad boy of cuisine” (which means he talks about once taking lots of drugs and is inclined to publicly insult people) is the author of the best-selling Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly and star of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations on the Travel Channel. Ripert heads the kitchen at New York’s famed Le Bernardin and is author of Avec Eric: A Culinary Journey with Eric Ripert. Presumably, he’s the good guy in the show. Both chefs’ books will be on sale at the event, which starts at 8 p.m. at 525 W. Commerce St. in Fort Worth. Tickets are $44 to $77 and available at 1-877-212-4280 or basshall.com.
