The Cottonwood Art Festival has been ranked one of the best art festivals in the Unites States, and provides art lovers a chance to not only look at, discuss and purchase art, but also meet each artist in person. This year roughly 1000 artists submitted their work for consideration, out of which 240 were selected to display their creations at the festival. Art media selected include 2D mixed media, 3D mixed media, ceramics, digital, drawings, pastels, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metalwork, painting, photography, sculpture and wood, so there should be something there for everybody. Even kiddies are whole-heartedly welcomed to the festival, as there is an entire region designated just for them, where they can exercise their imaginations while exploring the enormous hands-on, interactive children's area. The festival is set to take place at Cottonwood Park, 1321 W. Belt Line Road in Richardson, in a courtyard and cafe space surrounding Cottonwood Lake, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
