The mausoleum at Crown Hill is designated as a Dallas historical landmark. It was built in 1940 in the art deco style of the '20's and '30's and has been renowned for its artistic value, including its ageless materials, handcrafted details, and antique stain glass windows.
The site of the cemetery was once a family dairy farm owned by C. W. Smith, who constructed the mausoleum as a memorial to his then recently deceased parents and daughter-in-law.
Crown Hill's most celebrated resident is bank robber, Bonnie Parker of Bonnie & Clyde.
