Liberty Burger

The first Liberty Burger opened back in 2011. Famed for both fresh ingredients and long lines, Liberty's ethos (which you can even find under the tab marked "Ethos" on their site) is "without quality there is no value." That may sound like a more business-oriented version of the Jedi Code but the ethos also focuses on "food quality, social contribution and environmental responsibility." The menu features some creatively named burgers, like the Jackie O ("beautiful as its namesake" may be a stretch), the Libertine, Chillerno and the Nooner. The last one is described as a breakfast burger for when you have bacon and egg cravings at lunch time, but it seems like everyone has their own definition of a "nooner" these days. Owner Mariel Street, one-time resident of Mystery Island, is sister to the owners of Snookie's and daughter of Gene Street, owner of Black Eyed Pea, Good Eats and others. She brings a hippie mindset to her burgers. Empires have certainly been built on flimsier ideas.
