Dirty Projectors have a lot to live up with their forthcoming 2012 album Swing Lo Magellan. Past efforts include an album of Black Flag songs recorded only from memory, and a concept album about Don Henley's life.

The band's output has slowed since 2010, when they peaked as blogosphere darlings, but things seem to be picking back up: The new album will also be accompanied by a tour that passes through the Kessler Theater on Friday, August 3. It's a great venue to see the show, especially considering the brilliant Wye Oak will open. Tickets for the show are on sale over at the Kessler's ticket website for $17.50 to $25.

In other show news, the Granada Theater will be bringing in Mark Kozelek of Red House Painters and Sun Kil Moon. Tickets are on sale now at the Granada's ticket website for $29 to $39. A small price to see the guy from Almost Famous.
