Last year Denton's Eli Young Band packed country into Globe Life Park in Arlington for the first installment of its cheekily named House Party concert. Last night Young and company revealed their plans for the follow-up at the home of the Texas Ranger, which will be held Novemeber 8. This year, though, the event is growing, as another massive show to be held a week later at the home of the Houston Astros, Minute Maid Park.
This year's party will again see the local-boys-done-good headline with a formidable supporting lineup featuring Gary Allan, Pat Green, Cody Johnson and the much-buzzed-about duo Maddie and Tae. The lineup for the Houston show will be announced soon.
When the House Party first took place in the fall of 2013, the Eli Young Band was on the cusp of releasing 10,000 Towns. This was the first-ever concert-only event to be held at the Rangers' Ballpark, with 18,000 attending. Featuring EYB, Josh Abbott Band and Easton Corbin, it was clear to see this band had become the biggest Texas-based country export of the past several years and would only grow in stature as time rolled on.
Since the release of the band's newest album this past spring, they've toured with Hootie and have continued to rack up an insane amount of downloads for their hit singles "Drunk Last Night," and "Dust," which has only raised their profile and brought them closer to rarified, A-list country music air. Indeed, the days of catching these boys at former haunts such as Love and War in Texas or even Dallas' House of Blues are long-gone.
Tickets for the Eli Young Band's House Party at Globe Life Park in Arlington on November 8 go on sale August 29th for a highly reasonable $25 before the price eventually goes up as the date of the show draws closer. Ticket will be available at eliyoungband.com/tour.
