The Little Mavericks sure have local basketball fans in a tizzy now that they're up two games to none on the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Playoff's Western Conference Semifinals.

And even one Erykah Badu is getting in on the fun -- just moments ago, she tweeted a little bit of a joke at the Lakers' expense.

So maybe this makes sense then: On Saturday night -- smack dab between the Mavs' first home game in the series tonight and Sunday's Game 4 -- the South Side Music Hall will host a Dallas Mavericks pep rally, complete with a talk from head coach Rick Carlisle and, yup, a DJ set from Badu under her DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown moniker.

Not sure how Badu's finding the time for all these gigs between her touring schedule and her ongoing collaborative project with Flying Lotus, but, hey, she sure is doing lots of them. Just last week, she co-headlined the Rio Room's grand opening with another DJ set. Unlike past DJ appearances from Badu, though, this Saturday night one will be free to attend.

And Badu's not alone in the Music Hall's Mavs-centric offerings this weekend, which includes a Game 3 watching party tonight in addition to Saturday's pep rally. Offering these two events a little red dirt flavor on the Jack Daniel's Saloon stage will be the Travis Mitchell Band (who'll perform tonight) and the Chris Rivers Band (who'll perform Saturday).

More details after the jump.

Mavs-Lakers Game 3 will be shown on multiple screens Friday night throughout the 93,000-square-foot Gilley's-South Side Music Hall complex, with capacity for up to 6,000 guests.

The Playoff Pep Rally on Saturday night will feature appearances by Mavericks past and present in a fun-filled event hosted by DJ LoDown Loretta Brown, aka Erykah Badu. The Dallas-born, Grammy Award-winning artist will take Rowdy, Proud and Loud to a new level in support of the Mavericks' run in the 2011 NBA Playoffs. Both events are free and open to people of all ages, as long as they are wearing Mavs apparel. Great food will be available both nights at Gilley's' all-new restaurant and saloon. Drink specials will include $2.50 wells, glasses of wine and domestic beers. A portion of all proceeds from food and drink purchases both nights will benefit the Mavs Foundation.

Prizes include autographed memorabilia, player-issued team apparel, a tour of the Mavs locker room and a shootaround on the Mavs practice court for up to 20 people. There will also be a shooting contest both nights for a chance to win two tickets to the next Mavs home playoff game.

Both evenings' festivities will also include mechanical bull rides on Gilley's' outdoor patio, as well as live music by the Travis Mitchell Band (Friday) and the Chris Rivers Band (Saturday).
