The Kessler Theater is getting in on the festival action, and has just announced the inaugural Oak Cliff Music Festival, set for November 3, which will take place in the Winnetka Heights neighborhood surrounding the venue. The acts slated so far are the usual suspects -- Carolyn Wonderland, Alejandro Escovedo, Joe Ely -- but more Texas acts will be announced soon.

Add that to Index Fest in early October, the Fort Worth Music Festival in late September, the Stockyards Music Festival this weekend, and next weekend's Untapped Festival. Dallas is really embracing the festival life. What is this, Austin?
