Get Two Zounds Sounds Compilations, Help A Good Cause

By now, you should already know the deal with Zound Sounds, Marc Solomon's music school with multiple locations about the Metroplex where aspiring area youngsters learn from a staff of music teaching locals who are out there actually doing what the kids themselves hope to be doing as well one day, hanging out and playing in the rock clubs about town. But maybe you don't know about the Way Into Music Foundation, Solomon's other enterprise? It's a similar idea to Zounds Sounds, but, somehow, with even more heart, offering up lessons to student who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford them.

Nice, right?

Anyway, to help fund the new Way Into Music project, which launches next week, the folks at Zounds Sounds--both the teachers and the students, mind you--have banded together, releasing two new albums of music. Both can be purchased online at CD Baby, and each is quite unique. The first, Zounds Sounds Presents: The Teachers, Vol. 1, is a compilation of tracks donated to the cause by the bands the school's teachers perform in around town (among them: Ariline, The Slack, Jack With One Eye and The King Bucks). The second, meanwhile, Zounds Sounds Presents: The Students, Vol. 1, features original takes from the students at the school--basically meaning its a preview into what the local music landscape might look like five or ten year from now, which is pretty cool, I think.
