This morning, it was announced that The Walkmen's highly anticipated show at the Granada Theater this weekend has finally sold out. Not all that surprising, really, considering the amount of acclaim their latest album, Lisbon, has received. And deservedly so: Lisbon's quiet take on classic American rock 'n' roll is quite refreshing
In this week's paper, Walkmen frontman Hamilton Leithauser described to us the ways in which the new direction is changing the band's live show:
"I really like our show now-more than I've ever liked it," Leithauser says. "And I think people do, too. But it's kind of surprising because it doesn't seem like that's the kind of thing that's going to bring the house down. But the quietness makes the whole thing much more fun for everyone -- even the drunk dudes screaming."
