Tonight, up in Denton, The Duchess and The Duke perform with Fergus & Geronimo at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios.
On Saturday, Rural Alberta Advantage and The Shaky Hands play The Cavern, Innperpartysystem leads an impressive bill also featuring P.O.S. at The Door and The Gourds take to Lola's Sixth in Fort Worth.

Friday, Dec. 11, at Bryan St. Tavern
For once, we didn't write a critic's pick or gig alert announcing this LA-based post-rock duo's arrival into town. Might be for the best, though: This show, originally scheduled to take place at the Double Wide has been moved to Bryan Street Tavern as the Double Wide's been booked for some sort of private party. In turn, many congrats to Bryan Street for scoring its biggest show to date, albeit in a roundabout manner.
Destry, Bear Colony
Friday, Dec. 11, at Prophet Bar
Destry claims about seven states home, one of which is good ol' Texas. Not sure how to feel about that. But, credit where it's due: The band's lush, baroque folk/Americana is pretty touching stuff. Better yet, opening act Bear Colony is a fine pop-rock act making this show quite the impressive one on this Friday night.

It's an annual holiday event from the Grammy-winning Denton-based polka outfit, this one happeing at Oak Cliff BBQ joint Smoke. Well worth attending.

Ozzfest vets In This Moment headline this impressive metal lineup at Trees. So what's notable about In This Moment? Well, it's one of the few currently drawing metal acts that boasts a female lead. Maria Brink, in the words of one Wayne Campbell, can "really wail"--and impressively so, actually, adding some serious melody to this shredding headlining act.
