As we enter a pretty solid weekend of shows, we can't help but look to Saturday night as the best of them all. That's when Wilco performs at the University of North Texas.
The tickets for the show have been sold out for weeks. But, starting tomorrow at noon, according to the band's Facebook page, a few more tickets will be released, so you might be able to sneak your way in, after all.
Still, if you're not quick enough on the draw to score your tickets to Wilco, we've got plenty of other good shows going on this weekend, starting with the ones we've been mentioning all week.
Tonight, Pinback will be at The Loft along with Judgement Day, and Spooky Folk, Jessie Frye (who will be releasing her new record), Tiger Darrow and Bravo, Max! will be at Dan's Silverleaf. Oh, and The Prophet Bar will have food for the first time ever.
On Saturday, Brett Dennen will be supported by Dawes at Granada Theater, and Dear Human will play its final show at J&J's Pizza along with Peopleodian, Babar, Two Knights, and Monastery. Also: The Green Elephant, meanwhile, will host its first silent disco, which, thanks to 500 wireless headsets that will be passed out, will last until 5 a.m and Erykah Badu will DJ a Dallas Mavericks playoff pep rally at South Side Music Hall.

The Bellamy Brothers
Friday, May 6, at Billy Bob's Texas
Apparently, The Bellamy Brothers are kind of a big deal in the country music scene, and have been since they started in the late '70s. Since that time, they've had the stereotypical Nashville country career, collaborating with everyone from Dolly Parton to Kevin Bacon and his bro what's-his-name. Tonight, they're sure to play all the hits and the others, too.
The Hope Trust, Radiant, Calhoun
Friday, May 6, at Andy's Bar
Full Disclosure: I'm in that middle band. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't mention this show, since we're sandwiched in between two of North Texas' best bands, The Hope Trust and Calhoun. Both acts have recently released records. As for us, well, we haven't put anything out since the mid-aughts. Times were simpler then. That was back before we got hangovers. Now, playing a gig is back-breaking labor. In fact, I don't think I'm gonna go.
Ray Wylie Hubbard
Friday, May 6, at Granada Theater
The last time Ray Wylie Hubbard came to town, he did a "Storytellers at The Kessler" show, and it must've done something to boost his stock around here, because his Granada show tonight is almost sold out. Make sure your get your tickets quick to hear one of Austin's favorite sons.
Lolaspalooza
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, at Lola's Saloon
It's the second annual Lolaspalooza, a celebration of all bands Fort Worth. For the most part, it's kind of a dud, but acts like The Orbans, Me-Thinks, The Cush, and Calhoun just might make it worth your time, should you find yourself out that way.
Man Man, Shilpa Ray & Her Happy Hookers
Friday, May 6, at Sons of Hermann Hall
Jazzy, Vaudevillian act Man Man made quite an impression on Parade of Flesh's John Iskander last time they came to town in 2009. "Last time I brought them through turned into an insanely packed/sold-out show," writes Iskander on the Parade of Flesh website. This time, they'll be in the spacious Sons Of Herman Hall, a venue much more fitting to the band's sound.
Sans Soleil, Baruch The Scribe, Geistheistler, Dharma
Friday, May 6, at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios
Sans Soleil is an intense instrumental post-rock act from Denton. Reminiscent of Godspeed You Black Emporer, their sound is dark, lo-fi, and huge all at the same time. And thanks to being paired with Baruch The Scribe, tonight's show should be quite over-the-top in its intensity.
Tony Scalzo, Salim Nourallah, Kristy Kruger
Friday, May 6, at Club Dada
Remember that band Fastball, and their hit song "The Way"? Well, the band is still at it, more or less. As is their founding member Tony Scalzo. Scalzo will headline tonight's show with like-minded local artist and producer Salim Nourallah, plus singer-songwriter Kristy Kruger. If you just like good music and perfect pop, then this is your show.

Dallas is sort of an unlikely place to have such a prominent dubstep scene, but it's the biggest dance sensation to hit our city since "The Macarena." And you can bet that this party at Trees will be packed. So will the lines to the bathrooms, soon as the bowel-rumbling sub-bass comes from Trees massive sound system. Just eat light before you go, numsayin'?

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion is celebrating 20 years ofplaying their punk- and garage-inspired blues with a tour. The band is known for their interesting collaborations and explosive (hence the name) live shows.

Since 1999, New York trio Soulive has been cranking out high-energy funk, soul and jazz jams. Their exciting live shows have people raving, and the intimate room at The Loft is the perfect place to see this band.
