Temperatures will probably still hover around 100 degrees by the time Green Day and AFI roll into town, but make no mistake: Their fans will still come out in droves.
Busy these days promoting their 21st Century Breakdown album as their Tony-award-winning musical continues to play on Broadway and their Rock Band game spins on PS3s and Xboxes everywhere, one should still expect a great show from Green Day. The band knows how to do the pomp-and-circumstance arena show with a ton of fun thrown in, whether it's letting a fan come up and play guitar or encouraging the entire audience (even the ones at the top of the lawn seats) to stand up and chant along, ensuring that this will be a good time.
Fellow Berkeley punk alums AFI will also bring along the same kind of fervent show. It's been a long time since they played the Galaxy Club with Sick of It All, but the four-piece will still make their fans scream and shout with material from their three major-label albums. Of course, those coming expecting to hear "File 13" from the band's hardcore punk days need not apply.
