A couple weeks back, we announced the initial, tentative lineup for this year's Dallas Observer Music Awards showcase, which will run from 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, until the wee hours of Sunday, July 18, at six venues--not to mention an outdoor stage--in Deep Ellum.
We really couldn't be more excited about this event. Can't wait to see you all there!
After the jump, check the latest lineup information, which, OK, is still subject to change, I guess, but really should be much closer to the actual lineup this time around. The big news? We've announced the lineup order and set times for the outdoor stage performances from Lucero, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, The Secret Machines and The Cool Kids.
Aside from all that, I do have some other cool news to pass along: This year, instead of pressing compilation CDs as we have in the past, we've ordered 500 limited edition download cards filled with local music mp3s for you to pull off the Internet and onto your computer. The first 250 people to show up to the outdoor stage on July 17 will each be handed one of these cards free of charge. As for the rest? Our Street Team folks will be out handing some around, and the rest will be available free of charge when you purchase one of our $5 Dallas Observer Music Awards T-shirts, which, as per our DOMA art (see above, right insert), have a pretty sweet design this year, courtesy of our resident visual guru, Alexander Flores.
For more information on the DOMA Showcase, and to purchase your $10 wristbands (a pretty sweet deal, considering you're getting 10 hours of music and 46 performances in return), visit DallasObserverMusicAwards.com.
We'll check back in next week with some real exciting news to pass along about the performers and presenters we'll be having at the free-to-attend Awards Ceremony, which will be taking place on Tuesday, July 20, at the Granada Theater. Till then, your most up-to-date DOMA Showcase lineup info is listed after the jump...
